Mathew Hayden -An Interaction with Sathyabama Students

It was a double delight for the Sathyabama University on Thursday 11th August 2016 as with the blessing of Col.Dr.Jeppiaar, Founder Chancellor and in the presence of Tmt.Remibai Jeppiaar, Chancellor, Sathyabama University, the visit of Mathew Hayden, former IPL and Australian Cricketer. The entire University was much excited to have an international cricketer in its campus for the first time.   A grand welcome was given by Dr.Mariazeena Johnson,  to Mathew Hayden.  She expressed this day as a blessed day and remembered the fond memories of Founder Chancellor Col.Dr.Jeppiaar.

‘I’m really happy to have a cricketing legend in our University today’ said by Dr. Marie Johnson, Director, Sathyabama University.  He also felt happy about the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association for encouraging and supporting the young cricketers by starting the Tamil Nadu Premier League. He informed about the All India Inter University Women Cricket tournament to be held in the month of November and said about the scholarships that would be offered for Sports Quota students in the University.

‘Vanakam’ Hayden began his address after inaugurating the auditorium and inspired the students advising them to take life as a challenge and achieve their goals. He also shared his experience playing under the CSK franchise in the IPL and his bonding with the Chennai city. During the interactive session, when asked about his favorite Indian cricketer, Hayden said about the impression Virat Kohli had created over him for his excellent sportive skills and great batting performances. When asked about mongoose bat, he said : the mongoose was a great innovation and insisted youngsters to take up challenge.
